MDI Softball Falls to Foxcroft Academy 8-4 on Saturday

The MDI Trojans fell to Foxcroft Academy on Saturday, May 5th, losing to the Ponies in Dover-Foxcroft 8-4 as the Trojan defense committed 7 errors. MDI was up 4-3 after 4 1/2 innings before Foxcroft Academy scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning.

Lindsay McEachern was the tough luck losing pitcher for the Trojans, scattering  just 4 hits. Of the 8 runs allowed, only 1 was earned. She struck out 6 and didn't give up a walk.

Hannah Chamberlain was 2-4 at the plate for MDI. Madison Thornton had a triple. Lindsay McEachern, and Ruby Brown each had a single. Madison Neale had a stolen base.

Mackenzie Beaudry was the winning pitcher. She went the distance allowing 4 runs, 2 of which were earned. She struck out 15 and walked 1.

For the Ponies, Jenna Clukey and Kiara Prescott each doubled. Beaudry, and McKenna Higgins each had a single.

MDI is 2-3 and has a very busy week with 5 games scheduled for next week! On Monday, May 7th they will play host to Ellsworth at 4:30PM. On Tuesday, May 8th they travel to East Machias to play Washington Academy at 4:30PM. On Wednesday the 9th and Thursday the 10th they will play host to GSA and Foxcroft Academy at 4:30PM and Saturday, May 12th they will play host to John Bapst at 12Noon.

Foxcroft Academy is 5-0 and plays host to Nokomis Tuesday, May 8th at 4:30PM
