MDI Softball Falls In Prelims 2-1

The MDI Trojans Softball Team traveled to Dover-Foxcroft on Tuesday, June 6th and fell to the Foxcroft Academy Ponies 2-1 in a Class B North Prelim game.

The Trojans faced  Mackenzie Beaudry in the circle and the Foxcroft pitcher was dealing, as she struck out 18 Trojans, walking 5 and allowing just 2 hits.

MDI sent Lindsey McEachern to the circle, and McEachern was on point, allowing just 5 hits, striking out 5 and didn't allow a walk.

MDI scored it's run in the top of the 3rd and Foxcroft Academy answered in the bottom of the 3rd. The score stayed tied until the bottom of the 6th, when Foxcroft scored another run.

For MDI, Madison Neal and Madison Jones each had singles.

For the Ponies, Mackenzie Beaudry and Jenna Clukey each had a double. Alli and Abby Bourget and Cailin Seavey each had a single.

MDI finishes the season with a 5-12 record. Foxcroft Academy is now 13-4 and will play #2 Hermon in the quarterfinals.

It was the final game of MDI's Alaina Duley and Natasha Olearcek's high school softball career.
