The MDI Softball Team fell to Old Town 11-8 in 8 innings in Bar Harbor on another cold, rainy day, on Tuesday, May 9th.

MDI led 8-6 going int to the top of the 7th inning. Olivia Albert singled followed by a single by Lauren Gasaway. Janessa Brown grounded out scoring Albert to make the score 8-7. Old Town tied the score when Gasaway stole home.

In the top of the 8th inning, MDI induced 2 ground outs before Morgan Love doubled. Smith reached on an error and then Olivia Albert hit a homerun scoring Love and Smith to make the score 11-8.

MDI was unable to rally in the bottom of the 8th as Smith struck out the side.

Lindsey McEachern, pitching for MDI allowed 11 hits, 4 earned runs, 2 walks and struck out 5.

Hannah Chamberlain led MDI's hitting attack with 2 doubles. Maddie Neal had 2 singles and Madison Thornton, Lily Cook and Emily York each singled.

Albert led Old Town with a home run, double and 2 singles, just a triple short of the cycle. Love had a double and single

Albert pitched the 1st 3 innings for Old Town allowing 6 hits, 2 earned runs and a walk Smith completed the game, allowing 1 hit, walking 1 and striking out 9.

MDI is now 2-4 and plays at Foxcroft Academy on Thursday May 11th.

Old Town is 6-2 and plays host to John Bapst on Friday, May 12th.
