MDI Skate Park To Become Reality

After 8 years of fundraising the Bar Harbor Town Council on Tuesday night, March 1st unanimously approved the Phased Building Plan for the MDI Skatepark. The MDI Skatepark Association has enough funds to cover Phase 1 (Gray) and plans are underway to break ground this summer.

The Skatepark is to be built on the Bar Harbor Athletic Field, directly across from the YMCA in Bar Harbor on Park Street. It will be adjacent to the soccer fields and the baseball/softball diamonds and basketball and tennis courts.

The MDI Skatepark Association is continuing it's fundraising efforts as they would like to hopefully complete Phase 2 (Red) and Phase 3 (Green) as the same time as Phase 1 when Pillar Designs comes to pour concrete in September.
