The MDI Trojans spotted Ellsworth 7 runs and came back to beat the Eagles 14-12 in a slugfest in Bar Harbor on Tuesday, April 25th. Madison Thornton hit her first varsity homerun for MDI, knocking the ball over the outfield fence.

Lindsey McEachern pitched for MDI, going the distance allowing 13 hits, 9 earned runs while striking out 9 and walking 6 for her 1st win of the season.

Sammy Mason pitched 4 innings with Mackenzie Chipman pitched the final 2 innings in relief. Combined they allwoed 14 hits, 9 earned runs and struck out 8 while walking 3.

For MDI Hannah Chamberlain had 2 doubles, Lindsey McEachern had 2 hits, a double and single. Lily Cook and Madison Neal each had 2 singles for the Trojans.

For Ellsworth Callie Hammer banged out 3 hits, a double and 2 singles.  Mariah Young and Shleby Cote each had a double while Katelynn Bagley and Leah Stevens each had 2 singles.

MDI is now 1-1 and plays host to the John Bapst Crusaders on Thursday, April 27th at 4:30 PM.

Ellsworth is 0-1 and will play at Old Town on Saturday afternoon against the Coyotes at 12 Noon.
