MDI Outlasts Foxcroft 45-42

The MDI Trojans Girl's Basketball Team outlasted the Foxcroft Academy Ponies 45-42 on Saturday afternoon, January 30th in Bar Harbor and the Trojans are now 16-1 with 1 game remaining, against Ellsworth, at Ellsworth on Wednesday, February 3rd.

MDI led 9-6 at the end of the 1st Quarter and 24-13 at the end of the 1st Half. However, Foxcroft Academy outscored MDI 21-10 in the 3rd Quarter, and tied the score 34-34 at the end of the 3rd Quarter. However, the Trojans outscored the Ponies, 11-8 in the 4th Quarter to win the game.

MDI was led by Kelsey Shaw with 19 points. Keely McConomy who celebrated her 18th birthday today, scored 10 points and Mariah Hamor had 6 points. MDI was 15-24 from the free throw line.

Foxcroft Academy was led by Grace Bickford and Abby Simpson each of whom had 10 points. Kendra Ewer had 9 points thanks to 3 3-pointers. The Ponies were 9-14 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 16-1 and plays at Ellsworth on Wednesday, February 3rd at 7 PM in a game that will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA and WDEA Internet Radio.

Foxcroft Academy is now 9-8 and plays their last game at home on Wednesday, February 3rd at 7 PM against Central.
