The MDI Trojans outlasted the Cape Elizabeth Capers on Thursday, October 20th in a Class A Volleyball Prelim Match. The Trojans won in 5 sets. After leading 2-0, Cape Elizabeth came back to win the next 2 sets, before MDI won in the 5th set, in a match that lasted over 2 hours. The scores were 25-19, 27-25, 18-25, 14-25, 15-7

According to Coach Corey

Well, those that came out tonight to watch the game got their money's worth.  In a match that lasted over two hours, we saw a bit of everything in a match that went the limit at five sets.  The teams were evenly matched with MDI winning the first two sets and Cape the second two to force the fifth set.  We had to come from behind, down seven points, to win the second, which showed real grit.  In the fifth set we mixed some things up to try and change the energy and the girls came swinging right out of the gate.  It was great to watch them come together and pull out the win.  We've got a lot of work to do to get ready for Falmouth on Saturday, and hopefully we'll carry that energy forward

MDI Stat Leaders
Grace Higgins 4 aces, 11 rotation points, 7 kills, 3 digs
Mackenzie Hanna 3 aces, 1 kill, 1 block, 19 assists, 3 digs, 12 rotation points
Hannah Chamberlain 15/15 serving, 8 rotation points, 3 digs
Alexis Clarito 10/10 serving, 1 kill, 10 receptions, 6 digs

MDI is now 10-5 and will play 4th seed Falmouth in Falmouth on Saturday.
