The number 2 seeded MDI Trojans will play the number 4 seeded Orono Red Riots on Saturday, February 25th at 3:45 in the Class B North Regional Finals at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.

Orono beat MDI in their lone meeting this season, on January 31st when Orono beat MDI 51-49 on an off balance 3-pointer by Nate Desisto with no time remaining. MDI led that game 20-16 at the Half and 42-33 at the end of the 3rd Quarter. Orono outscored MDI 18-7 in the 4th Quarter.

MDI advanced to the finals by beating Central 48-38 and Orono advanced by upsetting the top seeded Hermon Hawks 52-41. Hermon had beaten Orono twice previously this year, prior to Wednesday's game.

Orono is led by Big East 1st Team All Conference player, and Big East Boy's Player of the Year Nate Desisto, 3rd Team selection Keenan Collett, and Honorable Mention selections Connor Robertson and Jake Koffman.

The MDI-Orono game was the game many "experts" predicted would happen at the beginning of the season.

You can hear the game with the pregame starting at 3:30 on AM 1370 WDEA, on our free downloadable APP sponsored by First National Bank and on WDEA Internet Radio.
