Congratulations to Betty Bryer, who was named MDI Hospital's Volunteer of the Year for 2017!

Bryer has been a member of the MDI Hospital Auxiliary for 28 years. She has been a trustee on the Birch Bay Retirement Village Board of Directors since 2011.

In her professional life, Bryer has been a realtor, working at the Swan Agency, Sotheby's International Realty since 1979 and has held leadership positions in realtor organizations, including President of the Hancock-Washington Board of Realtors and State Director of the Maine Association of Realtors.

Betty is currently serving as a Commissioner for the MDI Housing Authority and is a member of the MDI Rotary Club. She serves on the boards of the Jesup Memorial Library and the MDI YWCA, and is an active member of the Bar Harbor Congregational Church. She credits Dean, her supportive husband of over 55 years for keeping all things in check at home so she can continue to work and volunteer for our organization and in our community.

Brenda Sprague, MDI Hospital's Volunteer Coordinator said "We appreciate ALL of our volunteers, and the valuable time and many talents they share with our organization"

MDI Hospital's Volunteer Breakfast was held at Kebo Valley Golf Club on July 20th. Betty had that day off and just wanted to go to camp!  MDI Hospital had to call her family and friends to be sure she attended the breakfast - as they wanted it to be a surprise, and it was! Such a nice moment for MDI Hospital to honor someone so giving!
