In between the JV and the Varsity basketball game on Tuesday, January 14th between MDI and Foxcroft Academy, in addition to the Junior High School Basketball Team recognition, the MDI Girl's Cross Country Team was honored for their accomplishments in 2013, and what a season they had! In fact, they have quite the little dynasty going!

Consider the following:

They have been the Festival of Champions Champion for 3 years, Easter Maine Champion for 2 years, Penobscot Valley Champions for 3 years and State Champions for 3 years. In addition, they have been the fastest team in the state, across all classes for 2 years in a row. When they competed at the New England Championships, they were the fastest team in the State of Maine across all classes and finished in 12th place in New England, across all classes!

The girls and coaches received individual jackets and banners for the school to be displayed in Bernard Parady Gymnasium courtesy of the MDI All Sports Boosters. Those receiving jackets were

Isabel Erickson, Waylon Henggeler, Lydia Dacorte, Caroline Driscoll, Erin White, Olivia Erickson, Maggie Painer, Emma Strong, Eli Hinerfeld, Rebecca Planchart and Evelyn Swan, along with Head Coach Desiree Sirois and Assitant Coach Brad Witham.
