MDI Girls Sweep Foxcroft Academy

The MDI Lady Trojans started off the 2-0 season after sweeping the Foxcroft Academy Ponies in Dover Foxcroft. The Trojans won the 1st game 4-2 and then followed that up by defeating Foxcroft Academy in the second game 13-6!

MDI scored one run in the top of the 1st inning, and added a second run in the top of the second inning. Foxcroft Academy scored a run in the bottom of the third inning, but MDI blew the game wide open, scoring nine runs in the top of the fifth inning.

MDI's batters hit the ball well, pounding out 17 hits. They were led by Shelby O'Neil with 4 hits and 2 runs batted in, Katie Guarino had 3 hits and 2 runs batted in, Ali Bierman had 3 hist and 1 run batted in, Avalon Kerley had 2 hits and 4 runs batted in,  Cassidy Parady had 2 hits and 2 runs batted in, Sierra Myrick had 1 hit and 2 runs batted in,  Molly Carroll had 1 hit and 3 walks, and Deandra Kanu had 1 hit.

Haley Littlefield picked up her 2nd win in as many games, pitching 5 innings, giving up 3 runs, 2 of which were earned. Littlefield struck out 2, gave up 7 hits and walked 3. Karli Wilson pitched 2 innings of relief, allowing 3 unearned runs, giving up 1 hit, striking out 3 and walking 2.
