MDI Girls Soccer Beats GSA 7-1

The MDI Girl's Soccer Team rolled over George Steven's Academy Wednesday after noon in Blue Hill, defeating the Eagles 7-1.

MDI had very balanced scoring with 6 different girls scoring goals. Netting goals for MDI were Opal Curless, Meghan Catanese, Paige Mason, Hannah Shaw, Julia Mace and Maeve Geary who scored twice. Hannah Shaw started the game in goal, and then was replaced by her sister Kesley Shaw in the second half.

George Steven's lone goal was scored by Brier Rose Werner in the first half.

MDI had 15 shots on goal and GSA made 8 saves. GSA had 4 shots on goal, and MDI goalkeepers made 3 saves.

MDI improves to 2-1-1 while GSA falls to 1-2-1.  MDI hosts Caribou Saturday, September 21 at 1 PM and then travels to Ellsworth on Thursday September 26th to play the Eagles at 6 PM. The MDI-Ellsworth game will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370 as well as on WDEA Internet Radio.
