According to Coach May Dow

Both teams battled hard throughout the whole game. Each team had speed on the field and both ends made good defensive stops.

It was fun to watch the girls just going out on the field and playing soccer. The energy level was nice- the girls definitely picked up their intensity and settled down a little after getting into a flow of the game. Everyone contributed and stepped up when they were on the field tonight. It was fun to watch.

Our defense had a strong game by clearing out threats and limited the counterattacks. I was happy was our defensive rotations and we did a better job of stepping to the ball and winning the ball out of the air. Cassia did a nice job in goal to help gain the shutout with the help of our defense.

Offensively, we pressed and kept pressure on their defense and Ellsworth goalie Callie came up with a handful of nice saves. We worked the ball around and had some good combination plays throughout the field.

MDI is now 5-8 and has 1 game remaining in the regular season, at Hermon on Tuesday, October 18th at 6 PM. MDI is currently in 12th place in the Heal Point Standings with the top 12 teams making the playoffs.
