The MDI Girl's Softball team rolled over George Steven's Academy 20-1 in a mercy rule shortened game in Bar Harbor, Tuesday April 29th. This was a game that was originally scheduled to be played on April 24th but was rained out.

GSA scored an unearned run in the top of the 1st inning, to take a 1-0 lead, but MDI bounced back, plating 4 runs in the bottom of the 1st, adding 3 in the bottom of the 2nd and then piling on 11 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning.

Shelby O'Neil was 1-5 with a double, knocking in 4 runs and scoring a run. Sierra Myrick was 3-4, with a double, scoring 4 runs. Molly Carroll was 3-4 scoring 3 runs and knocking in 3 runs. Katie Guarino was 3-3, with a double, scoring 3 runs and knocking in 3 runs. Deandra Kanu was 2-4, scoring twice and knocking in 2 runs. Anna Busker was 2-2 batting, scoring twice, and knocking in 2 runs. Ali Bierman was 1-2, scoring 3 runs and knocking in 2 runs.

Haley Littlefield picked up the win, pitching 5 innings, allowing 5 hits and 1 run, which was unearned. Littlefield struck out 3 and did not give up a walk. She is now 3-0 on the season.

MDI improves to 3-0 on the season, and plays next on Thursday, May 1st when they play host to Ellsworth at 4:30.  George Steven's Academy is 0-1, and plays host to Orono on Wednesday, April 30th at 4:30
