The MDI Girl's Basketball Team traveled to Dover Foxcroft on Saturday night, and fell to the Foxcroft Academy Ponies 57-46.

Foxcroft Academy used the strength of the 1st and 3rd Quarters to win the game. They jumped out to a 19-9 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. MDI closed the deficit to 7 points at the end of the 1st Half 28-21 but then the Ponies outscored MDI 18-9 in the 3rd Quarter to take the lead to 13 points, 46-30.

MDI was led by Alexis Clarito with 12 points while Maya Watras had 9 points. Clarito had 2 3-pointers, and Mariah Hamor and Hannah Chamberlain each had a 3-pointer. MDI was 14-26 from the free throw line.

Foxcroft Academy was led by Makenzie Beaudry with 13 points while Grace Bickford and Emily Mikard each chipped in with 10 points. Kedra Ewer and Grace Bickford each had 3-pointers. The Ponies were 9-18 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 7-4 and have lost 2 games in a row. They'll take on Presque Isle Wednesday January 18th at 5 PM in a game that will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA and WDEA Internet Radio.

Foxcroft Academy is 9-3 and they will play host to Presque Isle on Saturday, January 21st at 3 PM.
