The MDI Girl's Softball team bounced back from yesterday's loss to Hermon, and defeated George Steven's Academy by the score of 13-2 in Blue Hill , Wednesday, May 21st.

MDI scored 2 runs in the top of the 1st inning. Shelby O'Neil singled to start the game, and then scored when Sierra Myrick reached on a bunt and error. Myrick scored when Molly Carroll grounded out to short.

Haley Littlefield pitched the first two innings for MDI, allowing 2 hits, 0 runs walking 1 and striking out 1. At the end of 2 innings, MDI led 2-0.

In the top of the 3rd inning, MDI pushed across another run. Hannah Shaw reached 1st on a fielder's choice, and stole 2nd base. She then scored, when Molly Carroll reached base on an error on the GSA second baseman.

In the top of the 4th inning, MDI scored  3 more runs to make it 6-0. Julianna Cleaves started the inning off with a single and advanced to 2nd when Cassidy Parady was hit by a pitch. Cleaves then stole 3rd, and Parady went to 2nd when Aubrie Boyce was hit by a pitch. Cleaves scored on an error. Hannah Shaw's single drove in Parady, and Molly Carroll's single drove in Boyce.

GSA scored their 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning. Adreanna Simmons and Olivia Stevenson hit back to back singles. MDI would then get two outs before Kassandra Rouff stroked a two out single scoring Simmons and Stevenson. After 5 innings MDI led 6-2.

MDI added another run in the top of the 6th inning. Avalon Kerley singled and stole 2nd and 3rd base and then scored on a ground out to short by Molly Carroll.

In the top of the 7th inning, MDI scored 6 more runs! Cassidy Parady and Ali Bierman reached on back to back errors and then Aubrie Boyce walked to load the bases. Shelby O'Neil singled scoring Parady. Deandra Kanu reached on an error, and Bierman and Boyce scored. O'Neil scored when Molly Carroll grounded out to short. Darcy Kanu singled, scoring her sister Deandra, Darcy stole second and scored when Katie Guarino reached on an error.

With the victory, MDI is now 7-4 and hosts Old Town, Saturday, May 24th at 12 Noon. George Steven's Academy is now 4-7 and travels to Dexter on Saturday May 24th at 1 PM.
