The MDI Girls remained unbeaten in the early season, defeating Ellsworth 4-3, Saturday, May 3rd, in Bar Harbor,  in a make-up game from a game rained out on Thursday, May 1st.

Ellsworth took a 1-0 lead in the top of the 3rd inning but MDI answered scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the 3rd. Ellsworth tied the score in the top of the 4th, but MDI scored 2 more runs in the bottom of the 6th inning, to take the lead 4-2. Ellsworth pushed across a run in the top of the 7th, but it wasn't enough, as MDI won 4-3.

For Ellsworth, Leah Stevens was 2-4 batting with a RBI. Emily Berry hit a triple that hit near the bottom of the outfield fence and scored a run. Delaney Sargent was 3-3 batting, scoring a run.

For MDI, Sierra Myrick was 2-4 batting scoring a run. Molly Carroll was 2-4 with a run scored. Avalon Kerley was 3-3 with 2 runs batted in, those coming on a bloop single to right field. Hannah Shaw, playing her first game of the season was 1-1 with a run scored, and Ali Bierman went 1-1 with 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.

Hailey Littlefield pitched a complete game for MDI picking up her 4th win of the season, allowing 3 unearned runs, walking 2, giving up 6 hits and striking out 4 Eagles.

For Ellsworth, Megan Hunt allowed 12 hits, 4 earned runs, walked 1, struck out 2 and hit a Trojan.

MDI , now 4-0 sits atop the top of the Heal Point Standings as of Saturday, May 3rd. MDI plays 4 games in the upcoming week, at Old Town on Monday, May 5th at 4:30, home against John Bapst Wednesday, May 7th at 4:30 and then a doubleheader next Saturday, May 10th in Presque Isle at 12 Noon and 2 PM.

Ellsworth is 0-3 on the season. They play at home Monday, May 5th at 4:30 against Washington Academy, at home Wednesday, May 7th against Old Town and then travel to Dover-Foxcroft to play the Foxcroft Academy Ponies Friday, May 9th at 4:30.
