The MDI Trojans experienced a measure of revenge on Wednesday, May 23rd, beating the Belfast Lions 3-2 in Bar Harbor. The Lions had beaten MDI 4-0 on May 15th.

The Trojans scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning and then 1 in the bottom of the 6th inning before Belfast scored 2 runs in the top of the 7th inning.

Alden Fournier picked up the win, pitching a complete game for the Trojans. He gave up 5 hits, 2 runs, 1 of which was earned. He struck out 6 and walked 3.

Skylar Perkins pitched for Belfast, allowing 3 earned runs. He gave up 7 hits, striking out 2 and walking 2.

For MDI Jacob Mitchell was 3-3 with 2 doubles. Matt Perconti had a double driving in 2 runs. Alden Fournier, Nick Stanley, and Porter Isaacs each had a single. Fournier had a stolen base.

For Belfast Jason Bartlet, Grey Dinsmore, Dakota Payson, Tyler Bartlett and Samuel Davis each singled for the Lions.

MDI now 9-4 is in 4th place in the Class B North Heal Point Standings. The Trojans play host to Washington Academy on Thursday May 24th at 4:30 PM and then to Old Town on Senior Recognition Day on Saturday, May 26th at 12 Noon. The Trojans then conclude the regular season at Ellsworth at 4PM on Tuesday, May 28th in a game that will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device

Belfast is 7-7 and plays host to Erskine Academy on Friday, May 25th at 4PM.
