The MDI Baseball Team celebrated Senior Recognition Day with a 6-3 victory over the Old Town Coyotes on Friday, May 25th. It was the last regular season home game for Seniors Alden Fournier, Jacob Mitchell, Andrew Kennedy, Matt Perconti, Stanley Grierson and Finn McConomy.

Matt Perconti was on the mound for MDI and he limited the Coyotes to just 6 hits, striking out 4. He didn't allow a walk. He pitched a complete game.

Brenden Gasaway started for the Coyotes and went 3 innings allowing 4 runs, 3 of which were earned. He struck out 5 and walked 6 giving up 2 hits. Chris Albert pitched the final 3 innings giving up 2 runs, both earned, on 4 hits. He struck out 2 and walked 1.

For the Trojans Liam Sullivan was 2-3 with a run batted in. He stole 4 bases. Finn McConomy had a single and stolen base.  Jacob Mitchell had a single, a stolen base and drove in a run. Sam Keblinsky and  Andrew Kennedy each singled.

For Old Town Nick Swift was 2-4. Gasaway, Joe D'Angelo, Dylan Street and Bryce Richards singled.

MDI is now 11-4 and in 2nd place in the Class B North Heal Points with 1 game left to play. They will play at Ellsworth on Tuesday, May 29th on Senior Recognition Day, at 4 PM. The game will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, WDEA Internet Radio, on our free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.

Old Town is 8-7 and will play host to John Bapst on Tuesday, May 29th at 4:30 PM.
