MDI Breaks Out the Bats

The Boston Red Sox should take some cues from the MDI Girl's Softball Team, because if they did, it may cure their offense! The MDI Girl's brought plenty of offensive firepower north with them on Saturday, May 9th, as they swept Caribou 11-7 and 27-2!

In the first game, MDI pounded out 17 hits and Haley Littlefield allowed 7 runs, just 2 of which were earned and gave up 11 hits. She struck out 7 and walked just 1 for the complete game win.

Rachel Soucy took the loss for Caribou, giving up 17 hits, 11 runs, 7 of which were earned and struck out 1 and walked 2.

For MDI, Aubrie Boyce was 3-4 with a RBI and 2 stolen bases. Darcy Kanu was 2-4 with a double, RBI and 2 stolen bases. Molly Carroll was 2-4 with a double and RBI and 2 stolen bases.. Cassidey Parady was 2-4, Katie Guarino was 2-4, and Haley Littlefield was 2-4 with 3 RBI. Julianna Cleaves was 1-3, Madison Thornton was 1-2 with a RBI and stolen base. Riley Mooers was 1-2,  and Alaina Duley was 1-2.

For Caribou Jaelynn Doody was 3-4 with a double, Katie Pelletier was 2-4 with 2 doubles and a RBI, Jenna Boucher was 2-3 with 2 RBIs. Bria Judd was 1-4 with a triple and 2 RBI, Rachel Soucey was 1-4, Adrianna Bither was 1-3 and Maddie Doucette was 1-3.

In Game 2, MDI banged out 29 hits, scored 23 runs in the 6th inning and batted around 3 times! Of MDI's 29 hits, 27 of them were singles and the 2 extra base hits belonged to Cassidy Parady and Julianna Cleaves each of whom had a double.

Haley Littlefield pitched the first 2 innings for MDI allowing 1 unearned run, and 1 hit. She walked 3 and struck out 4. Madison Thornton picked up the win, pitching the final 4 innings, allowing 1 run which was unearned, and 1 hit. She struck out 4 and walked 3.

Jenna Boucher took the loss for Caribou allowing 27 runs, and 29 hits. She walked 6 and didn't strike out anyone.

For MDI Avalon Kerley was 5-6 with 3 RBI, Julianna Cleaves was 4-6 with 2 RBI, Alaina Duley was 4-6 with 3 RBI. Molly Carroll was 3-5 with 4 RBI, Cassidy Parady was 3-4 with 5 RBI, Katie Guarino was 3-6 with 3 RBI while Aubrie Boyce was 3-6. Darcy Kanu was 2-5 with 3 RBI, Haley Littlefield was 1-1 and Madison Thornton was1-2 with 1 RBI.Kerley and Kanu had 2 stolen bases each, and Cleaves had 1 stolen base.

MDI is now 5-5 on the season, and will play at Hermon on Tuesday, May 12th at 4:30

Caribou is 3-5 and will play host to Presque Isle on Tuesday, May 12th at 4:30

For Caribou Bria Judd was 1-3 and Meagan Thornton was 1-3. Judd had 2 stolen bases.
