MDI Boys Soccer Team Rallies Late But Falls to WA 4-3

The MDI Boys Soccer Team traveled to East Machias, falling to the Washington Academy Raiders 4-3 on Wednesday, September 19th.

Washington Academy jumped out to a 2-0 lead after scoring at the 37:33 and 31:22 mark.

MDI's Leao Nelson cut the lead in half, when he scored with 22:42 left in the 1st Half. The 1st Half ended with Washington Academy up 2-1.

Washington Academy scored on a penalty kick with just 1:59 elapsed and then added another goal with 26:06 left to make it 4-1

But MDI battled back as Ben Hulbert scored two goals. First with 20:22 left and then on a penalty kick with 3:19 remaining to make the final score 4-3

Ivan Andros was in goal for the Trojans.

MDI is 3-3-1 and travels up to Caribou on Saturday, September 21st at 3PM.

Washington Academy 6-2 next plays at Foxcroft Academy on Saturday, September 21st at 1PM
