After winning their first 13 games in a row, the MDI Boy's Basketball Team have now dropped 3 out of their last 4 games, losing to Houlton 54-50 in Houlton. MDI never had the lead until 5:08 left in the 4th Quarter, when they were briefly ahead 44-43.

Houlton jumped out to a 16-11 at the end of the 1st Quarter. Cameron Graham had 7 points with a 3-pointer, Keegan Gentle had 6 points with a 3-pointer, and Nick Perfitt had a 3-pointer. For MDI Riley Swanson had 9 points on 3 3-pointers and Aaron Snurkowski had 2 points.

Houlton increased the lead to 12 points at the Half 31-19. In the 2nd Quarter Nolan Porter, Nick Perfitt, and Jacob Worthley each had a 3-pointer for Houlton. Cameron Graham and Nick Brewer had 2 points as did Keegan Gentle. For MDI Mac Shea, Russell Kropff, Aaron Snurkowski and Drew Rich each had 2 points.

In the 3rd Quarter MDI outscored Houlton 18-12 to cut the lead to 6 points 43-37. Russell Kropff had 10 points with a 3-pointer. Aaron Snurkowski had 4 points, and Mac Shea and Colby Lee chipped in with 2 points each for the Trojans. For Houlton Nick Perfitt had 6 points with 2 3-pointers, Jared Fox had 2 points as did Keegan Gentle and Nick Cleary.

In the 4th Quarter, Cameron Graham shot with seconds left gave Houlton the lead and MDI was assessed a technical foul for calling a time out when they had none remaining. Graham made both free throws to give Houlton the 54-50 win. For MDI in the 4th Quarter Colby Lee and Andrew Phelps each had 5 points with a 3-pointer, Russell Kropff had 2 points and Drew Rich had 1 point. For Houlton Graham had 4 points, Perfitt another 3-pointer  and Jared Fox 4 points.

MDI was led by Russell Kropff with 14 points while Riley Swanson had 9 points. MDI was 6-11 from the free throw line and had 6 3-pointers, 3 by Swanson, and 1 each by Phelps, Lee and Kropff.

Houlton was led by Nick Perfitt with 15 points, on 5 3-pointers. Cameron Grahma had 13 points with a 3-pointer and Keegan Gentle had 10 points with a 3-pointer. Houlton had a total of 9 3-pointers and were 9-15 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 14-3 and has 1 game remaining at Ellsworth on Thursday, February 9th. If MDI wins that game they will likely go into the Tourney as the number 1 seed. That game will be broadcast on  WDEA Internet Radio, on our free dowloadable APP, sponsored by First National Bank and on AM 1370 WDEA.

Houlton is now 10-6 and play at Hermon on Tuesday, February 7th and then at Calais on Thursdya, February 9th.
