MDI Boys Fall to Caribou 55-44

The MDI Boys fell to Caribou Friday night, January 24th at Bernard Parady Gymnasium in Bar Harbor by the score of 55-44. MDI was in it all game, and took a brief lead in the 3rd Quarter before Caribou pulled away for the victory in the 4th Quarter.

Caribou led 13-11 at the end of the 1st Quarter. Donovan Savage had 7 points including a 3-pointer, which Richard Sheldon had 4 points and Timothy Dassow had 2 points for the Vikings. MDI was led by Drew Rick with 5 points in the 1st Quarter including a 3-pointer, while Russell Kropff, James O'Donnell and Graham Good had 2 points each.

At the end of the 1st Half, Caribou was up 24-22. Colby Holdsworth had 3 points and Sheldon, Donovan Savage, Dayne Savage, Dassow and Sheldon all had 2 points. For MDI Good had 4 points, Aaron Snurkowski had a 3-pointer, and Riley Swanson and O'Donnell each had 2 points.

The 3rd Quarter belonged to Dayne Savage, as he scored 12 of Caribou's 14 points in the Quarter, as Caribou led 38-35 at the end of the 3rd Quarter. Donovan Savage scored Caribou's other 2 points. For MDI O'Donnell had 4 points from the paint, Andrew Phelps had a 3-pointer, and Rich, Kropff and Swanson each had 2 points.

In the 4th Quarter, Snurkowski scored 7 points for MDI including a 3-pointer, and O'Donnell had 2 points. Caribou went 9-13 from the free throw line in the 4th Quarter to insure the win. Holdsworth had 6 points, Dayne Savage had 4 points, Sheldon 3 points, Austin Griffeth 2 points and Donovan Savage and Nicholas Allen each had 1 point.

Caribou was led by Dayne Savage with a game high 18 points. Donovan Savage had 12 points and Colby Holdsworth and Richard Sheldon each had 9 points. The Vikings were 16-22 from the free throw line.

MDI was led by Aaron Snurkowski and James O'Donnell each of whom had 10 points. Drew Rich had 7 points. The Trojans were 4-6 from the free throw line.

MDI is now 4-10 and plays host to Presque Isle, today, Saturday, January 24th at 2:30 PM in a game that will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370 and WDEA Internet Radio. Caribou, now 9-4 plays at Ellsworth today, Saturday, January 24th at 2:30 PM.
