MDI Boys Defeat Fryeburg Academy 47-31

The MDI Boys defeated Fryeburg Academy 47-31 in Game 2 of the MDI Turkey Tip-Off Saturday afternoon in Bar Harbor.

MDI led 15-7 after the end of the 1st Quarter, but Fryeburg Academy took the lead at the end of the 1st Half 20-19. MDI then held Fryeburg to just 4 points in the 3rd period, while scoring 19 points. Fryeburg didn't score a point until there was just 1:15 left in the 3rd period.

Jon Phelps led the scoring for the Trojans with 17 points while Abe Philbrook had 12 points including 2 3-pointers. Ryan Gullikson and Alex Lazic each had 7 points for Fryeburg Academey.

The MDI Boys open the regular season Saturday, December 7th at home against Old Town with the tip-off at 3:30 PM. We will have that game on WDEA AM 1370 and WDEA Internet Radio and will be on the air starting at 3:10 PM. Fryeburg Academy opens the season Saturday December 7th at 5:30 at Lake Region High School.
