Don't let the final score fool you, this game was never really close, as MDI jumped out to a 35-0 lead at the end of the 1st Half before coming away with a 35-24 win at Alumni Field in Pittsfield at MCI's Homecoming.

MDI won the toss and deferred allowing MCI to start with the ball, with the Huskies taking over at their own 41 yard line. MDI held the Huskies and the Huskies turned the ball over on downs , with MDI taking over at the Huskies 41 yard line with 9:23 remaining in the 1st Quarter.

9 plays later, in a drive that lasted 3:53 Billy Kerley ran in the ball from 11 yards out. The 2 point conversion was no good and MDI led 6-0.

MCI took over on their own 27 and MDI forced them to punt, and MDI took over on their own 40 yard line, with 4:04 remaining in the 1st Quarter.

4 plays later, Elijah Joyce scored from 20 yards out. The drive took 1:40 and lasted 4 plays. This time the 2 point conversion was good and MDI was up 14-0 with 2:24 remaining in the 1st Quarter.

With MCI taking over on the MDI 41 yard line, MDI picked the ball off, and the Trojans took over on their own 21 yard line with 10:08 left in the 1st Half.

It took the Trojans 9 plays and 4:50 before Colby Lee dashed in from 35 yards out. James McConomy's point after attempt was no good and with 5:18 remaining in the 1st Half, MDI was up 20-0.

MCI was forced to punt again, and MDI took over on their own 46 yard line with 1:19 remaining in the 1st Half. Elijah Joyce ran the ball in from 1 yard line for his 2nd touchdown of the night. The 2 point conversion was good and MDI led 28-0 with 49.3 seconds.

MCI was forced to punt yet again, and MDI took over on their own 45 yard line with 1:19 remaining.  2 plays later Colby Lee took a short pass down the left side, and on the catch and run, ran in from 50 yards out. James McConomy kicked the extra point and the Trojans led 35-0 with 59.7 seconds remaining

MDI's defense picked off MCI again and MDI took over on their own 46 yard line with 27.1 seconds left. The Trojans took a knee and led 35-0 at the end of the 1st Half.

MDI's defense was stifling holding MCI to just 44 yards rushing on 20 carries. They held Ryan Friend, the MCI quarterback to 3-7 and 29 yards passing.

MDI's T-Offense ran for 144 yards in the 1st Half and Andrew Phelps was 3-3 for 107 yards and Colby Lee passed for 11 yards to Billy Kerley as the MDI Trojans faked a punt and converted the 4th down.

In the 2nd Half with MDI's reserves in the game, the Huskies scored 3 touchdowns.as the game was played under running time until MCI scored with 11:32 left in the game as Pedro Mattos scored from 2 yards out. The 2 point conversion was good and it was 35-8.

With 1:18 left in the game, Adam Bertrand ran in from 1 yard out. The 2 point conversion was good, and it was 35-16.

MCI scored with 17.1 seconds remaining, on a 34 yard pass play from Dominic Wilson to TJ Kuespert. The 2 point conversion was good. That made the final 35-24.

MDI was led by Colby Lee with 10 carries and 102 yards. Elijah Joyce had 9 carries for 51 yards. Andrew Phelps was 3-4 for 110 yards passing. Colby Lee had a 50 yard touchdown reception and Abrahm Malloy a 53 yard reception.

MDI now 4-1 will play at Waterville on Friday, October 6th in a game that will be broadcast on WDEA Internet Radio and on our free downloadable APP spoonsored by First National Bank with the pregame starting at 6:40 PM and kick off at 7 PM. The game will also be on AM 1370 WDEA unless the Red Sox playoff game is on.

MCI is 2-3 and plays at Old Town on Friday, October 6th at 7 PM.
