The MDI Trojans beats the Ellsworth Eagles in the team's mutual regular season ending game, at Katsiaficas Gymnasium on Friday, February 10th, 73-37. With that finish, MDI finishes 2nd in the Class B North Heal Points Standings and Ellsworth 12th.

MDI jumped out to a 17-9 1st Quarter advantage. Riley Swanson buried 3 3-pointes for 9 points, Aaron Snurkowski had a 3-pointer and Russell Kropff and Derek Collin had 2 points while Graham Good chipped in 1 point for the Trojans. For Ellsworth Zach Harris had a 3-pointer, and Bryce Harmon, Troy Folmer and Jared Hamilton each had 2 points for the Eagles.

In the 2nd Quarter, MDI extended their lead outscoring Ellsworth 16-9 to take a 33-15 lead at the Half. Andrew Phelps and Gus Reeves each had 6 points for MDI, both with 2 3-pointers. Russell Kropff had 4 points for MDI. For Ellsworth Sam Giffen and Jared Hamilton had 2 points each while Bradley Smith, and Zach Harris each had 1 point.

In the 3rd Quarter MDI added to their lead and it was 52-24. For MDI Mac Shea and Graham Good had 4 points, Andrew Phelps had his third 3-pointer of the night and Russell Kropff, Riley Swanson, Devin Parlatore and Derek Collin all contributed 2 points. For Ellsworth Zach Harris had 5 points with a 3-pointer, Troy Folmer had a 3-pointe and Bradley Smith had 1 point.

In the 4th Quarter for MDI Mac Shea had 7 points, Derek Collin had 6 points including a 3-pointer, Colby Lee had 5 points with a 3-pointer, Devin Parlatore had 2 points and Jimmy Carroll had 1 point. For Ellsworth Bradley Smith had 4 points with a 3-pointer, Jackson Curtis had a 3-pointer, and Andrew McCullough, Zach Harris and Devin Grindle each had 2 points.

MDI was led by Riley Swanson and Mac Shea with 11 points each while Derek Collin had 10 points. The Trojans were 12-18 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth was led by Zach Harris with 11 points and Bradley Smith had 6 points. Ellsworth was 10-14 from the free throw line,

MDI finishes the season 2nd and earns an automatic bye in the Tournament and will play Friday night, February 17th at 6:30 PM against the winner of the #7 Belfast-#10 Houlton prelim game to be played Wednesday, February 15th.

Ellsworth finishes 12th and will have to play the 5th place finisher, Presque Isle in Presque Isle on Wednesday February 15th. That game will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA, on WDEA Internet Radio and on our free dowloadable APP, sponsored by First National Bank. The time of that game is still to be determined.
