The MDI Trojans proved to be too powerful for the Ellsworth Eagles, defeating them 44-12 at Ellsworth High School on Friday, August 28th.

With 6:35 remaining in the 1st Quarter, the Trojans scored, going from their own 30 yard line, in a 15 play drive. Albee powered in from the 6 yard line. The 2 point conversion was no good, and MDI led 6-0.

With 2:14 left in the 1st Quarter, Albee went in from the 1 yard line, a 75 yard drive. Colby Lee rushed in for the 2 point conversion and it was 14-0 MDI.

On the 3rd possession, Taner Bickford ran for 68 yards on his first carry of the game, and then Albee plowed in from the 1 yard. The 2 point conversion was good as Andrew Phelps connected with Colby Lee on a pass, and with 10:49 remaining in the half, MDI led 22-0.

It was 28-0 approximately 2 minutes later, as Bickford on his second carry of the night scampered 50 yards. Albee then went in from the 15 yard line. The 2 point conversion was no good.

In the 2nd half, both teams put in their second and third team starters. Billy Kerley who was in as running back took a hand off from Abrahm Malloy and ran it in from 30 yards out. Nick Soper ran in for the 2 point conversion, and with 4:53 left in the 3rd Quarter MDI was up 36-0.

Abrahm Malloy who was now the quarterback for MDI ran 24 yards in after looking like he was going to be tackled on the far sideline. He reversed direction and managed to score. The 2 point conversion was good as Jimmy Carroll ran it in, and with 42.7 seconds left in the 3rd Quarter, MDI was up 44-0.

Ellsworth scored with 2:37 left in the 4th quarter. Jacob Shorey ran in from 34 yards out. The 2 point conversion was no good, and the score was MDI 44 Ellsworth 6.

Then with 1:53 left in the game, MDI had the ball and ran with it, but Javon Williams stripped the MDI ball carrier of the ball, and with the ball not touching the ground, ran it back 35 yards for a defensive touchdown for the Ellsworth Eagles. The 2 point conversion was no good, and that's how the game ended, with the final score MDI 44 - Ellsworth 12.
