Oceanside was forced to punt after 7 plays, and MDI took over at their own 14 yard line with 1:13 left in the 1st Half. The Trojans scored on a 4 play drive that took 40 seconds, on a 22 yard pass from Andrew Phelps to Taner Bickford. The big play of the drive was a 51 yard pass completion to Colby Lee. What made that play even more special, was that the pass was originally tipped by a Mariner defender, tipped again by a MDI receiver, and then Lee, trailing the play, caught the ball, and would have run it into the end zone, but his foot clipped the sideline. The 2-point conversion was no good, and at the end of the 1st Half, MDI was up 22-7.
