The MDI Trojans were scheduled to play the Presque Isle Wildcats on Wednesday, September 30th, but 4+ inches of rain got in the way. A day later, the Trojans hosted the Wildcats and came away with a 4-2 victory. MDI is now 7-2 on the season.

Paige Mason scored the first goal of the game for MDI , with an assist by Adriana Novella just outside the 18 at the 3:30 mark.

Presque Isle scored the equalizer with 25:12 in the first half when Chrissy Skidgel's shot went just under the middle of crossbar to make it a 1-1 game.

With 18:10 left in the first half, Novella got her second assist of the game when she helped set up Opal Curless for the first of her  three goals in the game.. Curless received the ball with her left and cut it to her right before sending the ball in the back of the net. With the goal, MDI led  2-1 at the end of the 1st Half.

Curless' second goal of the game came when she collected a misdirected clearance about ten yards out and released a hard low shot to the far post with 29:56 left in the game. That made the score 3-1 Trojans.

Presque Isle cut the deficit  to 3-2 with 23:11 remaining in the game when Madison Michaud followed in on a shot and put the rebound in from a few yards out.

Curless provided an insurance goal for MDI with 8:24 left in the game when she beat a couple of  Wildcat defenders and blasted her third goal of the game past goalkeeper Jillian Flynn.

MDI goalkeepers Keely McConomy and Ally Bender combined for 5 saves on 13 shots. Presque Isle goalkeeper Jillian Flynn made 5 saves on 16 shots.

MDI, 7-2 plays at Caribou on Saturday, October 3rd at 2 PM. Presque Isle, 5-3-1 plays host to Foxcroft Academy on Ssaturday, October 3rd at 1 PM.
