The MDI Trojans beat the Ellsworth Eagles 19-7 in an exhibition game on Friday, August 25th at Tug White Stadium in Ellsworth.

MDI scored first, when Elijah Joyce ran in from 25 yards out, with 10:40 remaining in the 1st Half. James McConomy's extra point attempt was wide and MDI led 6-0.

The Trojans scored again, with 32.8 seconds left in the 1st Half, when Billy Kerley pulled down an Andrew Phelps pass. McConomy's extra point attempt was wide and MDI led at halftime 12-0.

The Eagles scored with 11:03 remaining in the 3rd Quarter. Connor Crawford completed an 18 yard pass to Javon Williams for the score. Damien Carter's extra point attempt went through the uprights, and the score was 12-7.

MDI finished the scoring with 3:20 left in the 3rd Quarter. Sam Mitchell ran in for the score. This time McConomy's extra point attempt was good, and the Trojans led 19-7.

MDI opens the regular season next Saturday, September 2nd at Winslow at 1 PM. We'll have the game on WDEA Internet Radio and on our free downloadable APP from the APP Store sponsored by First National Bank, with the pregame beginning at 12:40 PM.

Ellsworth opens the regular season next Saturday, September 2nd at Dexter at 1 PM.
