If you are a married guy studies have already shown a reduced risk of heart disease and better cancer survival rates.

Now, there is even more good news, UCLA has just published *research that it is good for your bones too, at least if you marry after 25. Oh, well you can’t have everything.

But you need to be in it for the long haul the study also found that men in stable marriages or long-term relationships - who had not been divorced or separated previously - had stronger bones than men whose marriages had broken down or who had never been married.

Unfortunately the study, published in the journal Osteoporosis International, did not find the same long-term relationships link for women.

The upshot for men is that good health depends not only on maintaining a healthy diet and not smoking, but also on other social aspects of life, such as marital life stories and quality of relationships.'

*The researchers used data from the Midlife in the United States study, which recruited participants between the ages 25 and 75 in 1995–96.
