Man Being Treated for Stab Wound after a Fight in a Pit Bull’s Cage
A man is being treated for a stab wound after he and another man got into a fight last night in Glenburn. The two men were fighting inside a pit bull's cage, although police say the animal was not involved in the fight.
Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says Alan Hartley, age 38 of Glenburn, suffered a stab wound to the face. He and 25-year-old Jesse Merritt of Charleston got into a fight at Hartley's home on the Page Road. Police say the two men know each other.
The two men fought after climbing into a cage belonging to Hartley's pit bull. It's not clear why the men were in the cage, but police say the animal was not involved in the altercation, which was reported at around 9 p.m.
Merritt was charged with elevated aggravated assault and taken to the Penobscot County Jail.
