Maine Warden Service Seeking Information About An Eagle Shooting
The Maine Warden Service is seeking information about a Bald Eagle that was shot in Hermon. Wardens say the eagle was killed.
The eagle was located in the area of Hermon Pond near the Soudabscook Stream. It is a federal offense to injure or kill bald eagles.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Maine Warden Service online or call the Operation Game Thief Hotline at 1-800-ALERT-US. Operation Game Thief is offering a $1,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for shooting the eagle. Operation Game Thief provides a way for people to report illegal hunting or fishing practices. Callers are able to remain anonymous while still reporting the incident and collecting any reward money.
