Maine Ranked 6th Greenest State

Maine received high marks for percent of energy consumption from renewable sources and water quality putting vacationland in the top 10 Greenest states. 

While all of Maine's scores for each category were high overall, the lowest scores were for our number of LEED certified buildings per capita and percentage of the population driving to work.

Maine was ranked 13th for air quality, 7th for water quality, 14th for energy efficiency, and 16th for carbon dioxide emissions per capita.

We ranked first for % of energy consumption from renewable sources and first for % of recycles municipal solid waste.
