The Admiral's Cup will spend the year in Castine after Maine Maritime Academy held off Mass Maritime Academy 47-41 in a wild college football game.

The Mariners scored on its first six times with the ball and yet only led 41-34 because the Buccaneers came back to score three times late in the first half.

Maine Maritime managed just a couple of field goals by Chad Martin in the second half and they were needed.

Mass Maritime came all the way back to make it 47-41 and the Buccaneers were on the the 4-yard line with a 4th down-and-goal-to-go play, only to have time expire.

The amount of offense generated at Ritchie Field in Castine was staggering - 1,233 total yards.The Mariners rushed for 490 yards, the Buccaneers rushed for 460.

Sophomore fullback James Ferrar(Greely HS) led MMA is rushing with 157 yards on 23 carries.

Senior linebacker Jeddy Doyan(Hampden Academy) led the defense with 16 tackles.

Both teams are 1-1.

Maine Maritime begins NEFC play next week at MIT in Boston.
