Priest Accused of Photographing Woman Without Her Knowledge

A local priest is facing charges after allegedly photographing or videotaping a woman without her knowledge or permission. The woman reported the incident on Saturday. An investigation resulted in an accusation of possession of child pornography.

Bangor police say the woman indicated to them that she believed she had been photographed and/or video recorded without her permission or knowledge. As a result Bangor Police began an investigation that resulted in the arrest of Adam Metropoulos, age 52 of Bangor. Metropoulos is the Priest at the St.George Greek Orthodox Church in Bangor.

Metropoulos is charged with both Violation of Privacy and Possession of Sexually Explicit Material. WABI is reporting that District Attorney Christopher Almy confirmed the 'sexually explicit material' included child pornography.
