This family decided to hike up Cadillac Mountain to see the sunset, no different than many, but they had miscalculated how long it was going to take them to get up there, and consequently how long it was going to take to hike down.

They ended up hiking in the pitch dark, without having a flashlight. Luckily, they were all right, other wise this might have had a different outcome with the Park Rangers having to get involved.

It's a good lesson to always be prepared and to make sure someone knows where you are hiking, and when you are going to return!

And in the event you are wanting to see the sunrise or sunset in August 2017, here's a link to the times
