Local Papers Are Award Winning

Congratulations are in order for the The Ellsworth American and the Islander, as both papers were honored at the New England Newspaper & Press Association annual meeting on Saturday, February 21st in Boston.

The Ellsworth American ,and Islander together earned 53 awards— including 21 firsts — for news reporting, photography, advertising and marketing. The American was named best large-circulation weekly and also placed first in the General Excellence category. The Islander earned honorable mention in the small-circulation General Excellence division.
