Lightning Postpones MDI Football
The MDI-Old Town football game on Friday night, September 8th was postponed because of lightning with 7:41 remaining in the 1st Quarter with MDI leading 12-0
The game will be resumed at that point Saturday night, September 9th at 6 PM. There will be no admission charged for the resumption of the game.
MDI took the opening kick, at their own 39 yard line, and it took 3 plays, and 1:09 before they scored. Colby Lee ran in from 59 yards out.
The Trojans went for the 2 point conversion but failed, and led 6-0 with 10:49 remaining in the 1st Quarter.
Old Town took over on their own 33 yard, but MDI forced a 3 and out, and Old Town punted.
MDI took over on the Coyote 31 yard line with 9:35 remaining, and scored 1:25 later, when Elijah Joyce ran in from 14 yards out. MDI faked a kick, and tired for the 2 point conversion, but failed.
Old Town took over on their own 30 yard line, and ran a play, before the game was delayed, and eventually postponed because of the lightning.
