Maine Gov. Paul LePage on Thursday, when asked about the controversy surrounding "Deflate-gate," said the New England Patriots -- more specifically owner Robert Kraft and coach Bill Belichick -- have a history of being "less than ethical."

"What else did you expect?" LePage in response to a reporter's question about allegations that the Patriots intentionally under-inflating footballs in order to gain an advantage in the AFC Championship game against the Indianapolis Colts. "They have a track record."

LePage is seen making the comments in a video posted Thursday afternoon by the Bangor Daily News.

Specifically, LePage said Kraft was "less than ethical" when dealing with the state of Connecticut, referencing Kraft's 1998 decision to locate Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts after reportedly coming to terms with Connecticut.

LePage also referenced 2007's "Spygate" in which the Patriots and Belichick were fined for videotaping the sideline signals of the New York Jets.
