Jon Lester pitched eight great innings. Koji was back for a ninth inning save. David Ross came up with the key hit. Sox win, Sox win, 3-1 in Chicago.

Lester gave up just one run on seven hits. He struck out 9 and did not walk a batter.

Koji needed just 13 pitches to get the final three outs.

The offense sputtered but a lot of that had to do with Chris Sale. The White Sox starter was every bit as good as Lester. But in the ninth inning against the bullpen, the Red Sox scored twice to take a lead. David Ross had the key GWRBI with a double.

The Sox returned to Fenway for a 4-game series with Baltimore starting tonight. The Sox are 7-9.

Check out some of Lester's work on the hill...
