As planned, the Boston Red Sox activated infielder Ian Kinsler from the 10 day disabled list prior to Friday's August 17th game against the Tampa Bay Rays. What was surprising was that the Red Sox placed infielder Rafael Devers on the 10 day disabled list, retroactive to yesterday, August 16th.

Kinsler went on the disabled list on August 4th and missed 11 games. He was acquired from the Angels on July 30th. In 3 games with the Red Sox he was 4-for-10 with two stolen bases, three runs scored.

Rafael Devers , 21, made his first career Opening Day roster and has spent the entire 2018 season with the Red Sox. In 102 games, he has hit .242 (94-for-389) with 47 runs scored, 22 doubles, 16 home runs, and 55 RBI, making 99 starts at third base and one as the designated hitter.

The Red Sox open a 3 game series at home Friday night, August 17th against the Tampa Bay Rays. Pregame starts at 6:25 and 1st pitch at 7:10 on AM 1370 WDEA.
