Some people may have thought there was some kind of terrible emergency today in Hermon when the Penbscot County Sheriff's Department and a Hermon fire truck rolled into Danforth's Market, but the kids of Hermon Elementary School knew what was up.

They were under escort as they delivered a big donation meant to support other kids in Maine.

It was all planned well in advance as the children and their teachers have been playing games that have helped to foster discussions about children with special needs, and their desire to be like other kids who get to enjoy summer time recreational activities.

Our hats off to these kids, their teachers, and parents, for supporting the Pine Tree Camp.

There's still time for you to show your support too before we egg up and ride into Newport on Saturday.
