Boston Red Sox relief pitcher Joe Kelly's appeal of his 6 game suspension was denied, and he will begin serving it tonight, Thursday April 26th.

Kelly will be out through Mary 1st, meaning he'll miss tonight's game at Toronto, 3 home games against Tampa Bay and then the first 2 home games against Kansas City. He'll be able to play again on Wednesday, May 2nd when the Red Sox play the Royals in the afternoon at 1:05.

Kelly was suspended for a pitch that "got away from him" and hit Tyler Austin of the New York Yankees on April 11th. He had appealed the suspension. Austin was suspended 5 games.
