If you have considered donating to the Jesup Memorial Library, doing so between August 8th and August 20th will pay dividends for the Library! Long time supporters Emily Sabah-Maren and Jill and Sheldon Goldthwait will match up to $10,000 donated between August 8th and the Jesup's 47th Annual Book Sale on Saturday August 20th.

All money raised will go directly to support all that the Jesup offers on a daily basis. As a private nonprofit, the Jesup has served as the public library in Bar Harbor since it opened in 1911. The Town of Bar Harbor provides less than 5 percent of the operating funds, while endowment funds provide another 43 percent. The rest comes from generous individual and business donors.

As of the end of July the Jesup has welcomed more than 5,000 children and adults to concerts, author talks, arts and crafts, science and technology and other lectures. The Jesup offers free 24 hour Wi-Fi and access to public computers, plus thousands of books and e-books, music, movies and even a telescope to be checked out.

Donations may be made online at www.jesuplibrary.org, in person at the library, mailed to 34 Mount Desert Street, Bar Harbor Maine 04609 or by credit card over the phone at 207-288-4245.
