Tremont and Southwest Harbor Fire Departments were toned out Wednesday night, June 29th to battle a fire at the EMR , the solid waste transfer station in Southwest Harbor.

In the video above, Tremont volunteers apply a shaving cream consistency of Compressed Air Foam to the smoldering debris.

EMR owners quickly arrived on scene and turned over the burning trash with a large
Case loader. The quick thinking snuffed out the fire and minimized the damage to the newly build structure. This new EMR building's design helped contain the fire and allowed for the smoke and heat to escape.

According to the Tremont Fire Department, you should be very happy that this video did not have "smell-o-vision" as the smell of the burning trash was not pleasant!
