Identity of Augusta Homicide Victim Released
Augusta and State Police have released the name of a homicide victim whose body was found in a Washington Street apartment.
The body of 31-year-old Joseph Marceau was discovered in the apartment when police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. Marceau didn't live in there, but rather resided at 23 Winthrop Street in Augusta. An autopsy has been performed and relatives notified of his death. However, the cause of death has not been released.
A State Police K-9 tracked the scent leaving the apartment and discovered Damik Davis, age 25 of New York nearby. He's been arrested and charged with murder for the death.
Now, police are asking for the public's help locating the people who live in the apartment. Investigators want to check on their well-being and question them about the murder. 27-year-old Zina Fritze is described as 5'8" tall, 110 pounds, with recently dyed brown hair. 47-year-old Michael 'Sean' McQuade is 6'1" tall, 150 pounds, and has light brown hair.
Anyone with information on the couple's whereabouts is asked to call the State Police in Augusta at 624-7076.
