The Husson University Eagle's baseball team defeated Bates Tuesday evening 6-3. The game was originally scheduled to be played at Bates, but was shifted to Husson because of the rain, and the fact that Winkin Field has artificial turf so the field was playable .

Former MDI Trojan Dennis O'Neil pitched 4 strong innings, allowing only 1 hit, 0 runs and striking out 4 and didn't give up a walk. Former Ellsworth Eagle Jordan Carter was 0-3 batting, walked once and scored a run. Carter threw out another would be base stealer.

Husson is now 22-13 overall and 16-4 in North Atlantic Conference play. They play two double headers in New Hampshire this weekend against New England College. Husson is in 1st place in the NAC, but Castleton has a record of 12-4, playing 4 less conference games than Husson. Castleton has a home and home doubleheader scheduled against Lyndon State today and tomorrow.
