The Atlantic Hurricane Season begins on Wednesday, June 1st and lasts through November 30th. According to the Weather Channel, there will be 12 named storms, 5 of which will turn into hurricanes and there will be 2 major hurricanes. Wonder what the storms names will be? Here they are....

Storm names for Tropical Storms/Hurricanes in 2016 include

Alex, Bonnie, Colin, Danielle, Earl, Fiona, Gaston, Hermine, Igor, Julia, Karl, Lisa, Matthew, Nicole, Otto, Paula, Richard, Shary, Thomas, Virginie and Walter.

So, if there are 12 named storms, the names will be Alex through Lisa!

As you may be aware, I went to high school in Bermuda. The first week we moved down there, before we were even unpacked we had a hurricane. I still remember my mother having us sleep under the dining room table, with the house completely boarded up. We had hurricane shutters that made the whole house seem like it was in the middle of the night even during the day!

Hurricanes are nothing to take lightly. Luckily we are given ample notice if a hurricane were to come up in the area. Here are suggestions on how to prepare should a hurricane approach where you live.
