The National Weather Service in Caribou has issued a special weather statement for Friday, October 20th concerning a High Fire Danger as result of lack of rain and expected gusty winds.

The Maine Forest Service is advising  against any open burning on Friday, because of the lack of rain and expected gusty conditions.

Winds will gust 15-25 miles per hour from the northwest on Friday behind a cold surface front. Humidity will be lowering throughout the afternoon hours as a dry air mass moves into the state. All of these factors will increase the potential for any fires that do start to spread quickly and become difficult to contain.
